I'm coming close to having my itinerary map module for xoops ready for publishing...

Those of you with login access to the site may have used the Itinerary map function to see where we were visiting during our travels. Some of you may even know that this was a custom made module for the xoops system, knocked together by yours truly.

Well, I've not been idle since returning to the UK, and one thing I've spent some time on is a considerably more polished version of this software that I am prepared to release to the public.

I'll let you know the features on release day (not to spoil the anticipation!) but it's not likely to look a lot different to the average user. However, I am proud of the flexibility it puts in the hands of the webmaster, and I'm hoping that at least someone out there will find it useful.

At the very least, it has been an interesting coding project, helping me learn more about the internals of xoops, and to brush up my php/html/mysql skills. As I don't imagine there is a huge commercial market for routemap, and cos I'm a nice bloke at heart, I am releasing it under the GPL, as Free software!
